How 3D scanning works

Laser scanning captures a point cloud — millions of coordinates taken across every visible surface in a space. It is a comprehensive dataset, but more than most tasks require: the final drawing is still built from a limited set of key points, with the remaining data used mainly for verification and visualization.

How a traditional measured survey works

A measured survey works from a limited, predetermined set of measurements — room corners, openings, key structural points. Every measurement taken has a direct purpose in the final drawing.

Why fewer measurements doesn't mean less accurate

The more individual measurements are taken, the greater the chance of accumulated error during processing. A survey limited to the necessary and sufficient set of points reduces the number of possible error sources — and with it, the cost and time of the work — without sacrificing the accuracy of the final drawing.
